Easton, Mass. -- The University of Maine women's soccer team improved to 3-0-1 as it tallied four second half goals in a 5-1 victory at Stonehill on Sunday afternoon.
Abby Kraemer and
Gillian Rovers each netted a pair of goals in the win while
Kira Kutzinski made four saves to earn the victory in net.
Rovers started the scoring with her second goal of the season, off an assist from Jordan Pinette, 35:34 into the contest.
Kraemer began the flurry of Maine's four second half goals with her first of the game at 49:05. Just over two minutes later, Kraemer registered her second goal of the afternoon to put Maine on top, 3-0.
Rovers, working off a feed from Teegan Morrison, added her second of the contest at 62:03 before
Kayla Kraemer buried Maine's fifth and final goal of the afternoon with 28 minutes remaining.
Stonehill added a goal at 76:08 but could not close the gap any further as Maine captured the victory, 5-1.
Maine returns to action on Thursday when it travels to take on Merrimack at 4 p.m
