Box Score Orono, ME – The University of Maine soccer program began its 2023 regular season with a 5-0 victory over Le Moyne College on Thursday afternoon.
Five different goal scorers found the back of the net in the season opener for the Black Bears.
Abby Kraemer and
Kayla Kraemer put the Black Bears on top, 2-0, within the first 8:46 in the contest before
Doireann Fahey (22:38) and
Jordane Pinette (40:20) closed out the strong first half for the Black Bears.
Tegan Morrison tallied the fifth and final goal for the Black Bears in the 65
th minute to cap off the dominant opening contest for Maine.
Kira Kutzinski tallied two saves in the shutout for the Black Bears.
Maine remains in Orono as they host the University of Rhode Island on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 1 p.m.
