BALTIMORE -- The University of Maine softball team defeated the UMass Lowell River Hawks, 1-0, and advanced to day number three on Thursday afternoon at the Diamond at UMBC.
The first run of the day was not scored until the fourth inning. With
Jasmine Gray standing on third base,
Krista Francia lined a single up the middle. The freshman continued to stay hot and gave her squad a 1-0 lead after four.
It was the only run of the afternoon playoff game as
Caitlyn Fallon pitched her best game of the 2023 season.

Kelby Drews turned a vital double play that eliminated the River Hawks' best rally opportunity. The Black Bears continue their playoff run with a game tomorrow, Friday at 1:30 pm.
