Breen Crowned the 2022-23 NCAA Division I Statistical Champion for Short-Handed Goals

ORONO, Maine - University of Maine men's ice hockey forward Lynden Breen has been crowned the 2022-23 NCAA Division I statistical champion for Short-Handed Goals.
 
Breen scored his first short-handed goal in the first game of the season (10/07). The tally came at over a mile of altitude at the Air Force Academy. He found the back of the net twice on the same penalty kill against Merrimack in the Alfond (2/05). The fourth short-handed goal was scored against Boston College on February 24. All of the tallies came in a Black Bear victory.
 
He finished the regular season with 35 games played and 34 total points (19G & 15A). The forward led the team in goals and was the only Black Bear with 10 or more goals. He also finished second in assists, trailing Ben Poisson by two. The Grand Bay-Westfield, New Brunswick native was named February's Hockey East Player of the Month and earned a spot on the league's second team.
