TULSA, OK -- The University of Maine softball team was defeated by Tarleton State, 6-1, on the final day of the OSU/Tulsa Invitational.

In the bottom of the first inning,
Izzy Nieblas lined a single to center field. The center fielder committed an error which allowed
Kelby Drews to score from second. Maine held a 1-0 lead after the first inning.

The next four innings were played to a scoreless tie where each team tallied two hits.

Tarleton State scored their first run of the morning with a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning. In the top half of the seventh inning, the Texans scored four aided by an error, a ground out, and two singles.

They were the final runs of the morning as Maine fell, 6-1.
