Smithfield, RI - The University of Maine women's track and field team sits in third with 17 points after day one of Black & Gold Invitational.

Cheyenne Figueroa led the way for Maine in the hammer throw placing second (55.06m) while also moving into fifth on Maine's all time top 10 list.

The women had a strong day in the shot put. Stella Inman placed fifth (11.83m) and Paige Boudreau came in right behind her in sixth (11.77m).
