ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine softball team returns to the road for five games in Oklahoma. The Black Bears will play three different teams over three days before returning to Maine.

Under the watch of second year head coach
Jordan Fitzpatrick, The Black Bears will see 12 players return from the 2022 roster, while welcoming eight newcomers for the 2023 season. The new faces are made up of six freshmen and two transfers.

Kelby Drews earned America East Player of the Week honors after finishing the first week of the season with a .462 batting average, six hits, and two runs over the first week of the 2023 season. The graduate student now owns a .435 average with 10 hits and three RBI after the first nine games of the season. She's always been walked or hit by a pitch six times.

Izzy Nieblas, and
Grace McGouldrick are all just shy of the .300 mark. The three have combined to score 11 runs and record 20 hits. McGouldrick is 8-8 in stolen base attempts.

Anna Margetis supplied the power for the Black Bears. One of the newest Black Bears has crushed a home run and two doubles along with her seven RBI.
Krista Francia tallied two doubles and two RBI during her first nine career collegiate softball games.

Caitlyn Fallon has earned three wins, tallied a 3.64 ERA, and fanned 10 over the short season. The senior logged 25.0 innings while pitching one complete game over the first two road trips.
Alysen Rieth and
Ava Zettlemoyer both made their debuts for the Black Bears.
