MORAGA, Calif. -- The University of Maine softball team was defeated by Dartmouth College, 1-0, in the first game of the day before being defeated by Saint Mary's College, 2-0.

The game was a scoreless tie until the bottom of the eighth inning. A sacrifice fly was all that was needed from the Big Green.

The first run was scored in the bottom of the fifth inning. The run was scored on a wild pitch after the runner advanced on a pass ball and a sacrifice bunt. Saint Mary's second run was scored via the double.

They were the only runs of the day as Maine fell, 2-0.
