Bangor, ME – The Black Bears were defeated by the Catamounts of Vermont on Wednesday night, 74-65.
The Catamounts got out to the early lead over the Black Bears as they jumped out to an 8-4 lead heading into the first media timeout on the night.
Vermont increased their lead up to seven points as the contest entered its second media timeout at 11:22 with a score of 14-7.
The Black Bears came out of the second media timeout on fire from the field as they erased the seven-point deficit to tie up the contest at 14-14.

Kellen Tynes both buried a three-pointed during the run.
The Catamounts pushed their lead to nine points in the first half when they went on a 13-4 run heading into the final media timeout of the first half, a 27-18 lead with 3:50 remaining in the half.
The Catamounts went into the half with the largest lead of the first, a 10-margin at 36-26.
Ata Turgut led the Black Bears in scoring at the break as he was a perfect three of three from the field for seven points.
Finn Sullivan led all scorers in the first half as he had 11 points for the Catamounts.
Both sides came out and traded buckets over the first couple of minutes before the Catamounts took control and pushed their lead to 17 points at the first media timeout of the second half, 50-33.
The Black Bears chipped into the Catamounts lead coming out of the second media timeout of the second half as they went on a 7-2 run to make it a 12-point contest at 52-40.
Both sides kept the score at a 12-point differential entering the third media timeout, 62-50 with 5:22 remaining in the second half.
The Black Bears came out of the timeout and made it an eight-point game with 2:04 left, a 62-54 contest.
Ata Turgut buried a dunk to make in a single-digit deficit for the Black Bears.
The Black Bears came up short in their comeback effort against the Catamounts on Wednesday night, losing 74-65.
Ata Turgut had a great night for the Black Bears in scoring on the night as he had 14 points. He was a perfect six of six from the field, including two for two from three-point range.
Gedi Juozapaitis finished with a team-high 16 points, including a pair of three-pointers on the night.
Kellen Tynes finished with 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Maine (10-14, 4-7 AE) heads on the road for Saturday's matchup as they travel to NJIT. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 P.M.
