Orlando, FL – The University of Maine men's basketball team had their four-game win streak snapped at UCF on Monday night, 74-51.

The Black Bears knocked down the first field goal of the contest as
Jaden Clayton buried a layup as Maine took an early 2-1 lead over the Knights of UCF. Both sides combined for nine points over the opening four minutes of action.

The two sides got tied up at 8-8 before the Knights went on a 7-0 run into the second media timeout to take a 15-8 lead.

UCF pushed their lead out to 14 points at the third media timeout of the first half.

The Knights got their first half lead up to 23 points entering halftime as they lead 41-18.

Jaden Clayton (4) rounded out the top-three scorers for the Black Bears in the first half.

The Black Bears played a much stronger second half as they nearly went bucket for bucket with the Knights in the second half. The Black Bears defense didn't allow a single field goal for over five-straight minutes in the second half from 10:08 down to 5:00 remaining.

The Knights snapped the Black Bears win streak at four games by a final score of 74-51.

Maine tied UCF in the second half in scoring at 33-33.

Logan Carey led all Black Bears in scoring with nine points and had seven rebounds.

Aj Lopez made his return to action following an injury as he scored five points.

Peter Filipovity had eight points to go along with a team-high eight rebounds.

Maine (8-5) looks to bounce back on Thursday night as they travel to FIU. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 P.M.
