Orono, Maine -- Three members of the University of Maine football team were recognized with postseason honors by the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) on Tuesday afternoon.
Rohan Jones (FB/HB) earned a spot on the CAA Football Third Team Offense while
Derek Robertson (QB) and
Kevin Jones (OL) both earned honorable mention accolades.
Jones had a career year for the Black Bears as he set personal career highs in receptions (22), receiving yards (240), and touchdowns (5). Jones, who ranked second on the team with five touchdown receptions, registered three of his touchdown receptions in Maine's game against Hampton. Jones, who added a multi-touchdown performance with a pair at Campbell, capped his season with a career-high five catches for 54 yards at New Hampshire.
Robertson went 258-for-404 through the air in 2023 for 2,933 yards with 25 touchdowns in 11 games. The senior quarterback, who averaged 266.6 passing yards per game, ended the season with a 63.9 passing percentage. Robertson, whose 2,933 yards were the third most pass yards in a single season in Maine Football history, ended the season ranked third in the CAA and eighth in all of FCS in touchdown passes (25). His 23.45 completions per game marked him second best in the CAA and ninth in the nation while his 2,933 total pass yards were third best in the league and seven in FCS. Robertson's 266.6 passing yards per game average marked him third best in the CAA and 11th nationally.
Jones, a captain and constant for the Black Bears, provided impressive protection and strong run blocking in all 11 games he started in 2023. Jones concluded his career at Maine with 31 starts along the offensive line.
