#8 Boston University Tops #9 Men's Hockey, 3-2

Thomas Freel scored two goals for Maine in the 3-2 loss.

BOSTON – The #9 University of Maine men's hockey team fell to #8 Boston University, 3-2, on Friday night at Agganis Arena.
 
Maine took a 1-0 lead just 14 seconds into the contest thanks to Thomas Freel's first goal of the season. The Terriers, though, would go on to score three unanswered power-play goals to hold a 3-1 lead after two periods.
 
Freel struck again with a power-play goal of his own midway through the final period but the Black Bears were unable to find the equalizer down the stretch.

  • Maine had the 31-29 lead in shots on goal.
  • The Black Bears went 1-for-3 on the power play while the Terriers were 3-for-5.
