About the Black Bears
- Maine is coming off competing at the UMass Flagship Invitational.
- On the men's side they were led by many strong performances including Alec Troxell who placed first overall in the 5000m run with a time of 14:34.11. Â
- The men had four more top ten finishes in the track events. Cole Martin ran a 6.90 in the 60m dash earning him sixth, Evan Thornton-Sherman (4:15.08) placed second in the one mile race, Sam Mills (8:28.39) also showed his speed in the 3000m run finishing sixth, and in the 1600 relay the Black Bears placed ninth place overall run by Conner Michaud, Zachary Beaton, Josh Sewell, and Owen Mild (3:26.11).
- For the men in the field events, there were three finishers in the top ten.
- Jonathan Prell (16.20m) placed third in the shot put, Ryker Brown (15.21m) also had an impressive performance in the shot put earning sixth place, and also earning sixth place was Denis Simost Sima-Matha (13.75m) in the triple jump.Â
- For the women, they were led by Mackenzie Wilson who placed fourth in the weight throw (17.84m).
- The women had two more top ten finishers in the field events.
- Cheyenne Figueroa was also strong in the weight throw, placing seventh with a mark of 17.02m. Emma White placed ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.24m.
- In the track events the women were led by Lydia Gilmore who placed eighth in the one mile run, finishing with a time of 5:15.24.
