ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's soccer team defeated the Holy Cross Crusaders, 4-0, behind two goals from
Saylor Clark on Saturday afternoon at the Mahaney Diamond.

First Goal (1-0 Maine): Birte Speck scored the first goal of the contest at the 46 minute mark.
Kayla Kraemer dished the ball across the goal and over to Speck. The senior buried the pass and gave Maine a lead directly out of the halftime break.

Second Goal (2-0 Maine):
Tegan Morrison added another for the Black Bears less than 10 minutes later. Speck set up this goal instead of scoring it. Morrison's first goal of the year doubled Maine's lead at the 55 minute mark.

Third Goal (3-0 Maine): Saylor Clark scored her fourth goal of the season late in the non-conference game with Holy Cross. The super senior fired at the net with her left foot and found a ton of space. She was not done scoring.

Fourth Goal (4-0 Maine): Just over one minute later, Clark added her second goal of the game. The fifth goal of the season was another unassisted goal for the forward. It was the final goal of the afternoon as the Black Bears' won their second game against Holy Cross this fall.

Maine recorded nine total shots on goal to the Crusaders' one, while Holy Cross tallied five corner kicks to the Black Bears' four.

Saylor Clark scored two goals for the second straight game.
Birte Speck and
Tegan Morrison both found the back of the net.

Kira Kutzinski turned away one shot during her fourth win of the season.

Next: The Black Bears are back on the pitch Sunday, September 18th vs NJIT for the first America East game of the year. Conference play is scheduled to kick-off at 12:00 pm.
