Orono, Maine -- The America East conference announced on Thursday, July 14 that a total of 240 University of Maine winter & spring student-athletes achieved a 3.0 or higher grade-point average (GPA), earning them a spot on the America East Winter/Spring Honor Roll. 172 scholar-athletes earned America East Commissioner's Honor Roll status for achieving a 3.5 or higher GPA. A total of 78 percent of UMaine's winter/spring student-athletes were represented on the America East Honor Roll.

Women's Basketball excelled, with all 14 student-athletes earning a spot on the America East Winter/Spring Honor Roll, marking it the only winter/spring sport at the University of Maine to achieve 100% of its student-athletes earning a 3.0 or better GPA for the term. Five winter/spring programs, including women's basketball, women's soccer, women's swimming & diving, field hockey, and men's cross country, had 85 percent or more of its student-athletes honored.

• 75 percent of student-athletes who competed in America East sponsored sports this year earned Honor Roll recognition for earning at least a 3.0 GPA during the 2021 fall semester or 2022 spring semesters.
• Of that group, 48 percent of student-athletes and 1,630 in total earned Commissioner's Honor Roll status for registering a GPA of 3.5 or better.
• Overall, 2,523 America East student-athletes earned Academic Honor Roll in 2021-22.
• America East student-athletes have averaged at least a 3.0 GPA in each of the last 17 years.
