ORONO, Maine -- In the fall, Maine Athletics had the honor of playing a part in granting the wish of 10-year old Zachary Ellis.

At just 10 years old, Ellis has already overcome major challenges. Born with a kidney disorder, he underwent multiple procedures before receiving a life-saving transplant in 2024. 

Make-A-Wish Maine granted his wish by building him a sports-themed cabin in the woods, providing a tour of the new renovated Alfond Arena, and treated him to a VIP experience at the Maine Football game.
