Lowell, MA – The University of Maine baseball team dropped the series finale against UMass Lowell, 5-4.
 
First Inning: Joe Bramanti got the scoring going early in the top of the opening frame as he hit a double down the left field line, plating Jordan Schulefand (1 SB) on the play.
 
The Riverhawks would answer in the bottom of the frame as Brandon Fish hit a double to left center, plating Robert Gallagher.
 
Second Inning: After reaching on an error and advancing to third on an error, Fritz Genther came in to score on a wild pitch to give UMass Lowell a 2-1 lead.
 
Third Inning: Brandon Fish tacked on another RBI on his day as he hit a single to right field, scoring Robert Gallagher.
 
Fourth Inning: Jeremiah Jenkins gets the Black Bears going in the frame as he hit a double down the right field line, scoring Joe Bramanti on the play. Colby Emmertz tied the game up at 3-3 as he hit an RBI groundout to second, scoring Scout Knotts.
 
Gerry Siracusa grabbed the lead back for UMass Lowell in the bottom of the frame as he hit an RBI groundout to second, scoring Alex Luccini.
 
Brett Erwin's day came to an end during the fourth inning as he went 3 and 2/3 innings, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 4 hits, 2 walks and striking out 4.
 
Ryan Towle's day came to an end in the top of the sixth inning as he went 5 and 2/3 innings, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits, 6 walks and striking out 6.
 
Ninth Inning: Quinn McDaniel tied the contest up with 2 outs in the ninth as he hit a solo home run to left field, netting the score at 4-4.
 
Tenth Inning: Gerry Siracusa walked in off the bottom of the 10^th as he hit a single to left field, scoring Alex Luccini
 
Matt Draper (2-4) picked up the win for the Riverhawks as he pitched 2 and 2/3 innings and allowed 1 run on 4 hits.
 
Jordan Schulefand (5-2) took the loss for the Black Bears, pitching 1 and 1/3 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits, 2 walks and striking out 2.
 
Maine, who drops to 19-5 in America East play, returns home for senior weekend at Mahaney Diamond as UAlbany comes to Orono for a weekend series from May 15-17.
