Baseball Falls at Home Against Stony Brook, 6-2

ORONO, ME – The University of Maine baseball team lost their first conference game of the season as Stony Brook evened the series 1-1.
 
First Inning: Shane Paradine got the Seawolves off to a 1-0 lead as he hit an RBI-double to deep left field, bringing home Evan Fox (1 SB).
 
Sixth Inning: Evan Giordano increased the Stony Brook lead to 2-0 as he hit a sacrifice fly to left field, driving home Matt Miceli.
 
Eighth Inning: Stony Brook put up 4 runs in the top of the frame. Evan Fox (RBI double), Evan Giordano (RBI single) and Matt Brown-Eiring (2-run home run) did the damage for the Seawolves.
 
Ninth Inning: Jeff Mejia put up a late inning fight for the Black Bears as he hit an RBI-single to left field, bringing home Jake Rainess to make the score 6-2.
 
Stony Brook would come away with the win, 6-2.
 
Brandon Lashley picked up the win, his first of the season.
 
Caleb Leys took the loss for the Black Bears.
 
Colton Book picked up the save, his first of the season.
 
Maine will square off against the Seawolves for the series finale on Sunday, March 27 as both sides will be looking for a series victory. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 A.M.
