Orono, Maine – First-year head coach Jordan Stevens and the Black Bears have announced the schedule for the 2022 season. The full slate includes 11 games, five at Alfond Stadium, a pair of road games against Football Bowl Subdivision opponents, and eight contests against Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) foes.

"Black Bear Nation, I can't wait to see you fill the stands in Alfond Stadium this fall," Stevens says. "We have exciting games throughout the season here in Orono, starting with a non- conference game in September, followed by three conference games in October. We will cap the regular season against our rival, UNH, for the musket! Your attendance in Alfond Stadium will give us a great home field advantage."

The Black Bears will look for their fourth-ever win over a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) program when they open the season on Sept. 3 at New Mexico for the first of two FBS games in 2022.

Maine will host Colgate in its home opener at Alfond Stadium on Sept. 10 before hitting the road for a showdown at Boston College on Sept. 17.

Following the bye week, Maine will begin CAA action when it welcomes Villanova to Orono on Oct. 1. The Black Bears hit the road for their first CAA road contest of the season when they travel to take on CAA newcomer Hampton on Oct. 8.

Maine is back home on Oct. 15 to play host to another new member of the CAA, Monmouth, before returning to the road for a trip to Stony Brook on Oct. 22.

The Black Bears will end the month of October by hosting Richmond on Oct. 29 before hitting the road for a pair of contests.

Maine will travel to meet longtime conference foe Rhode Island on Nov. 5 before returning to the road for a trip to UAlbany on Nov. 12.

The Black Bears conclude the regular season with the annual Battle for the Brice-Cowell Musket when they welcome New Hampshire to town on Nov. 19.
