ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine men's ice hockey team was defeated by the #15/#17 Northeastern University Huskies, 4-1, on Saturday evening in Alfond Arena.

First Goal (1-0 #15/#17 Northeastern): Winning a face-off in the near side dot in the Maine zone, the Huskies scored their first goal of the evening. Sam Colangelo collected the face-off win and left the puck for Aidan McDonough. The forward buried the puck but was not finished.

Second Goal (2-0 #15/#17 Northeastern): McDonough scored his second goal of the second period 00:58 later. On the power play, the Huskies doubled their lead with a pretty goal for their forward captain.

Third Goal (3-0 #15/#17 Northeastern): Matt Choupani scored the third and final goal of the second period for Northeastern. The forward appeared to be tossing the puck on net to create a scoring opportunity for his teammate, but the puck found its way into Maine's net. The Black Bears trailed 3-0.

Fourth Goal (3-1 #15/#17 Northeastern): To pull the Black Bears to within one goal, Nolan Renwick fired and found the back of the net.
Donavan Villeneuve-Houle saw Renwick waiting patiently in the middle of the Huskies' defensive end. Maine's first goal sent the game in the final intermission with a score of 3-1.

Fifth Goal (4-1 #15/#17 Northeastern): Jakov Novak added an empty net goal to defeat the Black Bears by a score of 4-1.

Notes: Victor Ostman saved eight shots in net for the Black Bears after relieving Jacob Mucitelli who stopped 15. Devon Levi recorded 35 saves between the pipes for Northeastern.

Maine went 0 for 4 on the power play, as the Huskies were 1-3 on its player advantages.

Next: The Black Bears will return to the ice Friday, November 4 at the University of Connecticut. Puck drop against the Huskies is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
