Orono, Maine – University of Maine Athletics and its multimedia rights partner, Black Bear Sports Properties, has announced that it will televise three of Maine's home football games. These select games will air live on WVII ABC 7 and WFVX FOX 22 Bangor and Maine's CW - WPXT Portland.
"I very much enjoy and derive a great deal of pride broadcasting UMaine athletic events," says WVII Fox Bangor General Manager Mike Palmer. "Football season is coming soon and I cannot wait to see the Black Bears take the gridiron. Go Blue!"
The first broadcast of the season will take place on Saturday, Sept. 18 when Maine hosts Merrimack at Alfond Stadium at noon. Maine's homecoming contest with William & Mary, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 16 at noon, will also be part of the televised package. The Black Bears will wrap up the 2021 fall broadcast slate when they host Stony Brook on Saturday, Nov. 6 live at noon.
All games will be broadcast live on ABC 7 in Bangor and Maine's CW – WPXT in Portland. The games will re-air on tape delay the following Monday on FOX 22 at 12:30 p.m.
