Bears split first day at UMass-Lowell

Maine's offense showed up in game one, as six different Black Bears recorded a run batted in, and Ryan Turenne and Scout Knotts launched home runs in the ten-hit outburst. Peter Kemble worked four solid innings out of the bullpen to earn his first win of the season.
Game two was an inverse experience, as Maine's offense recorded just one run via a Quinn McDaniel solo shot in the eighth. Maine loaded the bases in the ninth, but three straight batters went down by way of the K to seal the 5-1 Riverhawks victory.
Maine and UMass-Lowell will do it again tomorrow, another pair of games set for a noontime first pitch.
