DURHAM, N.H. - The Maine Field Hockey team came through during their biggest game of the season thus far, defeating the No. 16 ranked and undefeated Stanford Cardinal by 3-2 final score behind a Chloe Walton goal with 1:41 remaining.

In a neutral site contested by UNH, Stanford struck first 2:32 into the match. Maine responded with a Brooke Sulinski tip-in goal three minutes later, and the score held at 1-1 into the third quarter. A similar situation unfolded in the third, as Stanford took a brief 2-1 lead before the Black Bears responded with a Julia Ross breakaway goal to tie things up.

The 2-2 score held until the final two minutes. Stanford's goalkeeper came out of her net to defend a breakaway, leaving three defenders on the weak side defending the goal. The ball found its way all the to Chloe Walton across the pitch, who flipped it up and into the back right corner of the net while falling backward against three defenders.
