Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine women's track & field team completed its season opening indoor competition weekend by capturing seven individual victories on Saturday against Southern Maine and New Hampshire.
Emily Labbe scored two victories in her first collegiate meet as the freshman took first place honors in both the 55m dash (7.39) and the 55m hurdles (8.37).
Jessica Kroushl won the 200m dash at 27.83 and placed third in the 55m dash with a time of 7.45. Darcy Coghran placed third in the 55m hurdles at 8.67.
Amelia Concannon (2:25.17) and
Cassandra Lucci (2:37.67) took first and second, respectively, in the 800m run.
Emma Jourdain was the top finisher in the 3000m run, crossing the line at 10:36.07. Jourdain was followed by Lyda Gilmore who took third in the event at 10:51.68.
Anna Schumann scored a first place victory in the triple jump at 11.55m (37-10.75) while
Ashley Martinez was the runner-up in the high jump at 1.60m (5-03.00).
Katherine Cowan won the indoor pentathlon with a final score of 2,664. Cowan won the 55m hurdles (8.82), shot put (10.50m), high jump (1.53m), and long jump (5.17m), while placing third in the 800m run (3:54.08).
