NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- The University of Maine women's soccer team was defeated by the Merrimack College Warriors, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon.
Â
First Goal (Merrimack 1-0): Rebecca Harty scored the lone goal of the first half. The forward for the Warriors took a direct kick from the edge of the midfield circle. Harty's kick sailed over
Alison Tobey's outstretched arms and into the Maine net. Merrimack took a one goal lead into the intermission.

Second Goal (Merrimack 2-0): For the second time, the Warriors took advantage of a free kick. Abigail Cieri took the corner kick attempt for her squad. On their sixth corner of the afternoon, Merrimack finally found success. The Black Bears trailed 2-0 early in the second half.
Â
The two goal deficit stood as Maine would drop their first game of the 2021 spring season.
Â
Shots/Keepers: Maine held a 15-to-11 advantage in shots, while Merrimack won the corner kick battle, 7-1.
Â
Keeper
Alison Tobey made three saves in goal, as her Warriors counterpart, Megan Langlois, tallied seven.
