Orono, Maine -- University of Maine head coach Jordan Stevens has announced the signing of Ayden Pereira. Pereira officially inked his National Letter of Intent on Friday, Dec. 17.

Pereira, a 6-0, 190 lb quarterback from Auburn, N.H., finished his career at Central Catholic with 5,551 passing yards, 68 touchdown passes, 1,614 rush yards and 31 rushing touchdowns. Pereira, who was honored as the 2021 Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year, was named to the All-Conference first team in 2019-21 and earned conference player of the year honors in 2020-21. In his senior season, Pereira registered 2,823 passing yards with 34 touchdown passes to go along with 790 rush yards and 14 rushing touchdowns. Pereira led Central Catholic to conference titles in 2019-21 and a state championship runner-up showing in 2021.
