Hanover, N.H. -- The men's track & field team tied for first place with Vermont with 155 points in a quad meet hosted by Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon. The Black Bears captured first place honors in a pair of events with
Kyle Jacques (long jump) and
Joshua Bradford (shot put) each winning their individual events.
Jacques captured first place in the long jump with a leap of 6.94m while adding a runner-up finish in the 60m dash at 7.03 and a fourth place showing in the 200m with a time of 22.70. Bradford's toss of 16.05m was tops in the shot put competition while he added a third place finish in the weight throw at 15.89m.
Maine also added five runner-up showings on the day.
Zachary Beaton placed second in the 60m hurdles at 8.73 while adding a fifth place finish in the high jump at 1.90m.
William Green was the runner-up in the pole vault, clearing 4.15m, while
Crispin Kamundala took second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.09m.
Sebastian Osborne was the runner-up in the shot put with a toss of 15.82m, good for eighth on Maine's indoor top-10 list.
Alex Troxell placed third in the mile, crossing the line in 4:21.36 while
Jeremy Bissell placed third in the 60m hurdles with a final time of 8.75.
Ben Cotton's mark of 6.45m was good for third in the long jump while
Jonathan Prell's throw of 15.34m placed him third in the shot put.
Ryker Brown added a fifth place shot put mark of 14.51m as the Black Bears took four of the top five spots in the shot put event.
Maine's team of Beaton, Green,
Colin Jones, and
Conner Michaud placed second in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:40.51.
