HANOVER, N.H. - The University of Maine field hockey program picked up their twelfth victory of the 2021 season on Sunday afternoon, dispatching Dartmouth for the eleventh straight time by a 3-1.
For Maine, it's the 17th time in program history the Black Bears have had twelve or more wins in a season and the seventh time under Coach
Josette Babineau.
The 0-0 score held for the first 30 minutes, as the Dartmouth defense bent but never broke against eight Maine shots in the half. The Bears finally broke through at the 34:53 mark, as
Chloe Walton and
Hana Davis teamed up for a goal to break the stalemate followed by a
Julia Ross unassisted tally to make it 2-0. Three minutes later
Poppy Lambert converted the penalty stroke to make it 3-0, and the score held through for Maine's twelfth win.
Maine has just one more tilt on their regular season schedule, a Halloween matchup with New Hampshire on the road.
