James Olivier (Men's Track & Field) and
Lilly Volk (Softball) were two of the 18 student-athletes selected to the 2020 America East Helping Hands Team, as announced on Monday, June 1.

The America East Helping Hands Team, in its seventh year, was established to recognize a male and female student-athlete from each of the nine America East institutions who are model student-athletes and also outstanding citizens as demonstrated though their significant community service efforts
. The honorees exhibit exemplary efforts in the area of community service while remaining in good academic standing.Â

"These 18 honorees represent the very best of the countless student-athletes in America East who are committed to helping others and volunteering their own personal time to better their campuses and communities," said America East Commissioner, Amy Huchthusen. "This award is just one example of the conference's dedication to leadership on and off the field as one of its 3 Pillars."

Each institution, at its discretion, selects a male and female representative to be recognized annually by the America East Conference. The winners represent 11 different sports feature nine seniors, six juniors, two sophomores and one freshman.
