SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The University of Maine baseball program came up short in trying to get their first season win against the Bears of Missouri State on Friday afternoon, falling by a 6-2 final.

- Maine started to get some things going with a late eighth inning rally beginning with an RBI by Ryan Turenne that brought in Hernen Sardinas.
- Dillon Stimpson contributed more solid innings out of the bullpen, tossing three shutout innings with just two hits allowed.
