ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine men's ice hockey team tied the University of Vermont Catamounts, 0-0, on Saturday evening in the Alfond Arena.

The Hockey East foes skated to a scoreless first and second period.
Jeremy Swayman finished the opening periods with 16 saves, and the PK unit was perfect on their two separate times on the ice.

Vermont was presented with their best opportunity of the evening when a five-minute major and game misconduct was called on the Black Bears. The Catamounts were unable to take advantage of the 5-on-4 five-minute chance.

Neither team was able to find a goal in the final minutes of the third period or overtime. The scoreless tie was
Jeremy Swayman's second shutout in three games.

Notes: Jeremy Swayman finished with 30 saves for the Black Bears, while Stefanos Lekkas tallied 33 for the Catamounts.

Maine went 0-2 on the power play, as Vermont was 0-3 on their man advantages.
