BANGOR, Maine - Senior Andrew Fleming drew up from way beyond the three-point line and sank the shot as the horn sounded, giving Maine the 75-72 overtime victory over Columbia University on Thursday evening at the Cross Insurance Center.

Fleming hit the shot, but it was Sergio El Darwich who carried Maine down the stretch and forced the game into overtime. Fleming's classmate and co-captain scored five points by himself in the final minute of regulation to erase a five-point Columbia lead and send the game into the extra period. He wasn't done there, as he rattled off Maine's first seven points of the overtime period, accounting for 12 of Maine's last 15 points.

The last three came off the hand of Andrew Fleming, who drew up with a Columbia defender draped all over him to hit the game-winner and send the Cross Insurance Center into a frenzy.

MAINE GAME NOTES

Maine's two-member senior class carried them to victory today. The game-winner Andrew Fleming notched his 12th career double-double with a game-high 26 points and 11 rebounds.
His co-captain Sergio El Darwich had 24 points of his own, alongside three steals and a +7 rating on the evening.
The two combined to go a combined 19-36 from the floor and 10-15 from the free-throw line in the win.
Redshirt freshman Stephane Ingo provided a key spark in his first career start. In 27 minutes, Ingo had eight points, six rebounds, a block, and a game-high +14 rating.
Maine won the game down-low, with a 44-20 advantage in points scored in the paint.

A LOOK AHEAD

The Black Bears rise to 4-10 on the season with the victory.
They'll stay right at home for their next tilt, as they begin America East play against Stony Brook on Sunday at 1:00 PM.
