BANGOR, Maine - The University of Maine men's basketball team dropped their first America East conference game of the season on Sunday afternoon, as the Stony Brook Seawolves came into the Cross Insurance Center and handed the Black Bears a 73-52 loss.
The Black Bears trailed 35-24 at the half, but came out strong with an 8-2 run to start the second half, started by an Andrew Fleming dunk and capped by a Fleming three-pointer to make it a 37-31 game. That was as close as Maine would get however, as Stony Brook put together a 25-7 run over the next 6:30 to put this one out of reach, cruising the rest of the way to the 21-point victory.
