ORONO-- Maine men's and women's track teams place four athletes on the America East All-Academic team for the 2019 outdoor track and field season.

For the women, Elite 18 indoor track and field winner
Taylor Lenentine made the All-Academic team once again. The pole vaulter from Sidney, Maine graduated with a 3.99 GPA in Child Development and Family Services. Lenentine was previously named 2019 America East All-Academic Team for Indoor Track and Field, a member of the 2017 America East All-Academic Team for Outdoor Track & Field and a six-time UMaine Presidential Scholar.

She was joined on the team by South Portland native
Lauren Magnuson, who graduated with a 3.96 GPA in elementary education. Magnuson was the 2018 M Club Dean Smith Award winner as the top female student-athlete at Maine for the year, the 2018 America East Elite 18 award for Women's Indoor Track & Field as well as a four-time UMaine Presidential Scholar honoree.

Andrew Clement, of Falmouth, Maine, Â graduated with a 4.00 GPA in marine sciences. Clement was the winner of the 2019 America East Elite 18 award for Men's Indoor Track & Field, and was previously named to the 2019 America East All-Academic Team for Indoor Track and Field. He represented Maine on the 2018 America East All-Academic Team for Outdoor Track and Field, and has been named on the Dean's List and as a UMaine Presidential Scholar four times. A two-time TEAM MAINE honoree for top GPA on the team for 2018, Clement has also been named a four-time America East Commissioner's Honor Roll for both indoor and outdoor seasons.

Rounding out the group is
Dan Lesko, who graduated with a 3.95 GPA in biomedical engineering. The Farmington, Maine native was a 2019 America East All-Academic Team for Indoor Track and Field. Lesko has been on the Dean's List five times, as well as being a two-time Presidential Scholar and been recognized three times as a UMaine Scholar-Athlete Medalist. Lesko is a ten-time America East Commissioner's Honor Roll member with cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field.

In 2018 Lesko was recognized as a TEAM MAINE honoree for top GPA on the team, and a member of the  2018 America East All-Academic Team for Cross Country. As part of his work as a biomedical engineer, Lesko was an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Howell Biointerface and Biometrics Lab and Member of the Maine VEMI lab (Virtual Environment and Multimodal Interaction laboratory).

To be eligible for All-Academic, student-athletes must have sophomore athletic eligibility, attain a 3.30 minimum grade-point average and be a contributor on their team. The squad is voted on by a committee made up of America East student-athlete support and athletic communications administrators as well as faculty athletic representatives.
