NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The University of Maine men's basketball team ended their eight game road trip with a victory on Saturday afternoon, holding off a ferocious rally attempt by the Central Connecticut Blue Devils to come away with a 66-64 victory in Connecticut.
This one truly came down to the wire, as Maine saw a nine-point lead at the 3:18 mark evaporate via a 10-2 CCSU run. After
Andrew Fleming went 1-2 at the free throw line with ten seconds remaining, Maine found themselves up by two against the CCSU offense. Myles Barker, who had scored eight of Central Connecticut's last nine points, got
Nedeljko Prijovic to bite on the shot fake on a stepback three, but Prijovic recovered to get the clutch block to seal Maine's 66-64 win.
