Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine women's basketball team continues to work through its non-conference slate when it hosts Harvard, presented by Berkshire HomeServices Northeast Real Estate, The Emily Ellis Team and Embrace Home Loans, on Saturday at 1 p.m. Saturday's contest marks the 18th meeting between Maine and Harvard. It's Alumnae Weekend for the Black Bears who welcome back former Black Bear greats.

OVERVIEW:
A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
Maine returned home to its home court, after four games away from the Cross Insurance Center, with a flurry of offense as it handed Husson a 104-42 defeat on Wednesday evening. In the win, Maine matched a team-record with 16 made three point field goals, led by
Kelly Fogarty who broke the single-game school record with nine triples. Fogarty finished as one of six Black Bears in double-figures as she registered a career-high 31 points in the win.
Dor Saar matched the all-time UMaine record with 14 assists in the outing.
Saar leads a balance Maine scoring attack which features five scorers averaging 6.0 points per game or higher. Saar paces the field at 9.4 points per game, good for 20th best among America East leaders. Saar also ranks in the top-10 of the conference in 3-point percentage (28.4) and 3-point field goals made per game (2.1) to go along with a fifth-place ranking at 4.3 assists per game.
Maeve Carroll, who missed Maine's last game due to illness, has registered double-digit scoring performances in three of her last four outings, including matching a career-high with 14 points in her last contest against Dayton. In Maine's win over Navy, Carroll notched her first career double-double with 10 points and a career-best 14 rebounds. Over her last four games, Carroll is averaging 10.8 points and 6.8 rebounds. Carroll ranks 11th in the America East in rebounding (6.0). Fogarty raised her scoring mark to 6.8 points per game with her nine triples and 31 point performance against Husson. Fogarty, who is 19-for-50 this season from downtown, ranks fourth in the league in 3-point percentage (38.0) and sixth in 3-point field goals made per game (2.1).
The Black Bears have attempted the eighth most 3-point field goals (229) in the nation this season, ranking 37th best nationally with 66 makes from long-range, averaging 7.3 field goals from distance per game. Overall, Maine continues to be impressive with its ball control. Last time out, Maine forced 23 turnovers while only giving it away six times. The Black Bears rank third in America East and 38th nationally with just 13.2 turnovers per game.
A LOOK AT HARVARD:
The Crimson recently saw its three-game win streak come to an end as it fell 46-44 to Northeastern on Wednesday evening. Previously, Harvard had picked up victories over Hartford and on the road at Boston University and at Quinnipiac. Harvard was led for the sixth-time this season by Lola Mullaney who chipped in 17 points against Northeastern.
Overall, Mullaney leads the way for the Crimson at 17.3 points per game while shooting 36.8-percent from 3-point range. Mullaney checks in third in the nation averaging 4.0 three point field goals made per game. Jeannie Boehm is nearly averaging a double-double with 8.9 points and a team-high 10.4 rebounds.
Harvard has been strong on the glass through its first nine games, checking in 30th in the nation at 44.3 rebounds per game. The Crimson generates a high amount of its offense from beyond the arc where it ranks tops in the Ivy League with 8.0 three point field goals made per game and 20th in the nation with 72 total makes from beyond the arc. SERIES WITH HARVARD:
Maine and Harvard will meet for the 18th time and the sixth time in as many years. Maine holds a 10-6 all-time mark over the Crimson following a 67-60 victory on the road in last seasons meeting. In that contest,
Blanca Millan led all scorers with 26 points, including the 1,000th of her career, while
Dor Saar narrowly missed a double-double with 11 points, all from the free throw line, and nine assists.
Maddy McVicar added 10 points in the win. Maine and Harvard's first-ever meeting came in 1984, an 86-56 Black Bear win. Maine is 6-2 all-time at home against Harvard, with its last win at home coming in 2017, a 76-51 victory in the UMaine Tip-Off Tournament played at The Pit in Orono. Maine has won two in a row in the series and also has won each of its last two home games against the Crimson. Saar has scored 11 games in each of her two career games with Harvard.
