UConn uses strong second half to push past Maine

HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Maine men's basketball team fell in yet another road contest on Sunday afternoon, as the Huskies of the University of Connecticut handed the Black Bears a 64-40 final score at the XL Center in Hartford.

MAINE GAME NOTES
  • Redshirt freshman Stephane Ingo put together his best defensive effort of the season, recording a game- and career-high five blocked shots on the day. He now sits third in the America East conference in both total blocks (10) and blocks per game (1.7).
  • Andrew Fleming characteristically filled up the box score with a team-high 19 points and nine boards, along with three blocks and two steals.
  • Nedeljko Prijovic pulled down eight more rebounds, he's averaging a team-high 7.1 boards a game this year.
  • Agah Kizilkaya recorded a pair of steals and an assist in his first career start.
  • Maine swatted nine shots as a team, their highest total since matching the number in a February 24th contest against UAlbany during the 2017-18 season.
  • A key to Maine's demise on Sunday was the turnover battle, with Maine recording 28 on the day that the Huskies utilized directly for 28 points. That's the most in a game for Maine since they had 27 during the 2015-16 season.
UP NEXT
