ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine field hockey team got a
Hana Davis goal with 1:22 remaining in a 1-1 game to take their second conference victory of the season on Friday afternoon, narrowly besting the University of Vermont.
Chloe Walton scored her sixth goal of the year nine minutes into the first quarter, and the 1-0 Maine lead would hold all the way into the fourth. There, Vermont tied things up with barely three minutes remaining after converting a penalty stroke with an empty net. The Black Bears were able to answer though, as
Hana Davis buried her second goal of the season with just over a minute remaining to give Maine the 2-1 victory.

- Walton's goal extends her scoring streak to four straight games, as the sophomore now has 12 total points on the year.
- Hana Davis gets her second goal of the season. Of her now eight career goals, four have been game-winners.
- The defensive backline of Morgan Anson, Cassandra Mascarenhas, and Brittany Smith led an effort that yielded just four Vermont shots, and goalkeeper Mia Borley made a pair of saves to round out the defensive performance.
