Riedl Nets Overtime Score to Lift No. 25 Maine Past No. 24 Ohio State to Stay Unbeaten

BOSTON – Four minutes into an overtime period, senior Libby Riedl capitalized off a rebound to lift No. 25 Maine past No. 24 Ohio State on Saturday night at New Balance Field.

The contest went scoreless through the first half, and it wasn't until the 52nd minute until the Black Bears' (3-0) Brooke Sulinski found the back of the net for her second career goal. The Buckeyes (1-2) answered a few minutes later as regulation ended in a 1-1 tie.

Four minutes into overtime, Libby Riedl followed her shot that was blocked and deposited into the back of the net for Maine's second victory over a ranked opponent in as many days. Maine took down Boston University 2-1 on Friday at New Balance Field.

In net, Mia Borley made four saves for her third victory of her young career. For Ohio State, Aaliyah Hernandez recorded two saves in 74 minutes.
