DURHAM, N.C./WORCESTER, Mass. – Jacob Johns earned wins in both the 800m and 1500m to lead the UMaine men's track and field team at the Holy Cross Invitational on Saturday at Hart Track. Several Black Bears also competed at the Duke Invitational on the weekend, as
Elijah White tallied top-five performances in the long jump and triple jump. Maine earned a fourth-place at Holy Cross, totaling 55 points. There was no team scoring at the Duke Invite.
Johns' victories in the 800m (1:55.31) and 1500m (3:55.29) gave Maine 20 team points on the day. His 800m time was a new personal record, while the 3:55.29 in the 1500m met IC4A qualifying standards.
Aaron Willingham followed Johns in the 1500m, taking second with a personal-record time of 3:56.08.
Troy Davis also won an event at Holy Cross, recording a top-jump of 1.95m in the high jump. He also earned eighth place in the long jump (6.20m).
Mozai Nelson grabbed two top-5 performances, placing third in the 100m (11.03) and fifth in the 200m (22.53) to earn the Black Bears eight team points.

Andrew Clement and
Cooper Nelson earned Maine six points with a fourth-place finish, registering a time of 3:30.75.
Other top performers at Holy Cross include

th, 400m hurdles, 56.64),
Isaiah Allen (5
th, javelin, 50.76m),
Colton Santoro (6
th, 110m hurdles, 15.97) and
Raymond Ngo (6
th, shot put, 12.87m).
At Duke, White put together impressive leaps in both the long jump and triple jump at Morris Williams Track and Field Stadium. His top-jump of 7.07m in the long jump was a new personal record, which earned him third-place among 24 competitors. In the triple jump, White recorded a mark of 14.55m, which placed him fifth in the field of 23. Both distances met IC4A qualifying standards.
Adam Lufkin also traveled to Duke, taking third in the discus, with a IC4A qualifying distance of 49.49m. The distance is a new personal-record and ranks fourth-best in program history. He also took 18
th of 29 in the shotput (14.47m).
The Black Bears are off from competition until April 26, when Maine heads to Philadelphia to compete at the oldest and largest track meet in the United States: the Penn Relays.
