WORCESTER, Mass. – In the first America East Men's Swimming and Diving Championships since the 2012-13 season, the UMaine men sit in third place with 87 points after day one at the Sports and Recreation Center on the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
The first day of competition featured the men's 3-meter dive, along with the 800-yd freestyle relay, the 200-yd medley relay.
The tandem of
Coulter Morrill,
Hayden Kasavicha,
Andy Sprague, and
Alexander Penn earned a third place finish in the 800-yd freestyle relay in the first relay event of the day with a time of 7:16.57.
The 200-yd medley relay team also took home a third place finish, with
Nick Gould,
Jack McNamara,
Kevin Clyne, and
Jacob Ketch recording a time of 1:37.38.
In the 3-meter dive,
Kyle Adams placed seventh, with a score of 223.10, while
Ben Sturgis took eighth by totaling 183.60 points.
After day one, UMBC leads the men's rankings with 132 points, while Binghamton is second with 111. The Virginia Military Institute rounds out the scores with 30.
