Box Score

ORONO, Maine – Priscilla Domingo picked the perfect time to score her first collegiate goal, as the sophomore's 50th-minute tally lifted the University of Maine soccer team to a 1-0 win over Stony Brook in an America East Conference match on Sunday at Mahaney Diamond.

The teams battled evenly through the first 45 minutes of play, with neither squad able to find the back of the net. Stony Brook (4-7-0, 0-1-0 AE) and UMaine (3-5-1, 1-0-0 AE) each had opportunities in the first half – with Kendra Ridley's strike from 25 yards out being the best chance of the half for the hosts – but each goaltender was up to the task. The UMaine defense drew the Seawolves into two offsides in the first half.

Domingo's tally just five minutes into the second stanza would hold up to be the game-winner but not without some fine effort in the defensive third. Goaltender Annalena Kriebisch totaled six saves in the second half. She deflected a point-blank shot and racing to cover up the rebound in the 74th-minute and then reacting perfectly to a hold on to a rocket of a shot from 10 yards out.

Kriebisch (3-5-1) finished with eight saves for her third shutout of the season and sixth of her career. Sofia Manner (3-5-0) finished with four saves for the Seawolves.

Stony Brook held the final edge in shots on goal (8-5) and corner kicks (6-1).

Goal Recaps
• (Maine 50'): Emilie Andersen found herself on the right flank with the ball and crossed it across the front of the net. Domingo timed a run from her spot on the back line to nail home the ball at the far post.

Notes
• Domingo's goal was the first point of her career and Andersen's assist was also her first career point.
• This marked the second-straight game and third overall this year that Kriebisch made eight saves.
• The shutout was the third of the year for Kriebisch and the sixth of her career.
• Kriebisch, Mikayla Morin, Kendra Ridley and Amy Falkin played the full 90 minutes for the Black Bears.
• With the win, UMaine evened the all-time series at 12-12-1 and gained an overall edge of 49-37 all-time in series scoring.

Up Next
• The Black Bears continue conference play by traveling to Hartford on Thursday, Sept. 28 before returning home on Oct. 1 to host UMBC.
