VESTAL, New York - In the final game of the series, the Black Bears and Bearcats faced off in a back and forth affair that saw Binghamton taking the series 3-0 with a 3-2 win over Maine on Sunday.
Jonah Normandeau got the start for the Black Bears, seeing 7.0 innings of work allowing two earned runs, eight hits, and one walk, while striking out four. He threw 94 pitches in the contest, and would end up getting the loss bringing his record to 1-4.
The Bearcats got on the board first with an RBI double in the bottom of the first to lead 1-0, but another solo shot to right field by
Cody Pasic tied the game up at one-all. It was Pasic's second homer of the year, and of the series.
Binghamton would re-take the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning on an RBI single to left field, but Maine would answer back top seven as an error would score
Hernen Sardinas to tie the game back up at two. In the bottom of the seventh, Binghamton's RBI triple would take the lead for the final time as they retired six straight Black Bears to end the game.
Cody Laweryson closed the game for Maine, he went 1.0 inning, allowing one hit, no runs, one walk, and struck out one.
The Black Bears are back in action Tuesday night at 5pm against UMPI, and Wednesday at 5pm against Colby, before taking another conference road trip this coming weekend, this one to Stony Brook to face the Seawolves.
