BURLINGTON, Vermont- Maine's Women's Ice Hockey dropped the second game of their weekend series against the Vermont Catamounts, on Sunday afternoon.
The Black Bears started strong, when
Catherine Tufts scored 6:32 in to the first period. Assists came from
Lydia Murray and
Mikayla Rogers. The period ended in a 1-0 Maine lead.
Vermont tied the game up 12:00 minutes in to the second, with a goal from Saana Valkama, assisted by Alyssa Gorecki and Bridget Baker.
Baker started scoring 7:39 into the third, with the assist coming from Valkama. Gorecki finished the game with four seconds left in the matchup, netting one, from a Rachael Ade assist.
Carly Jackson made 24 saves for the Black Bears, while Madison Litchfield made 26 for the Catamounts.
Maine returns to action on Friday, January 13, to begin a two game weekend series against conference opponent Northeastern. Puck drop is 7pm.
