Durham, New Hampshire- The Women's Ice hockey fell to the New Hampshire Wildcats, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon.
The first period was scoreless.
Carly Jackson made six saves for the Black Bears. Hillary Cashin made five for UNH.
New Hampshire brought the offense towards the end of the second. Abby Chapman scored the first goal for the Wildcats 15:16 in to the period. Her teammate Jonna Curtis scored shortly after at the 17:07 mark. The period ended in a 2-0 Wildcat lead.
Curtis showed up again in the third, scoring 2:06 in. Carlee Toews added another for New Hampshire shortly after at 2:29. The Black Bears held the Wildcats back until 13:31 into the third, when Julia Fedeski put another one in for UNH. Curtis then completed her hat trick at 15:29, followed by Marie-Jo Pelletier at 18:38. The game ended in a 7-0 UNH victory.
Carly Jackson was in net for the Black Bears, her record is now 6-15-1. Hillary Cashin was the goaltender for New Hampshire, she now has a record of 9-5-1.
The Black Bears return to action next weekend, when they will face off against Providence College on Saturday, January, 28 and and Sunday, January 29. Sunday's game will be the annual Skating Strides game presented by FairPoint Communications. Both games will begin at 2pm.
