Men’s Hockey Battles Hard at #4 BU, Lose Tough One, 4-1

Rob McGovern Makes 37 Stops in Loss.
Maine ventured back to Boston in hopes of continuing their magic from Fenway Park and turning that momentum towards the Terriers for the first game of a home and home ending at Alfond Arena Saturday night.
The Black Bears and Terriers played tight defensively, alternating penalties throughout the first. Maine was able to strike first on the powerplay. At the 18:44 mark of the period, Cam Brown fed Blaine Byron at the point; Byron sifted a shot through, which found a redirection off sophomore forward Nolan Vesey's stick before beating BU goaltender Jake Oettinger. This would be the lone goal of the first, and Maine headed to the locker room with a 1-0 lead.
The second frame was much like the first, but saw BU spoil men's league as they capitalized on a powerplay of their own. At the 18:28 mark of the frame, Clayton Keller found the back of the net on assists from Brandon Hickey and Bobo Carpenter. Both teams headed to the dressing room knotted at 1 apiece.
The third period saw Maine fall into penalty trouble and the Terriers were able to take advantage. First, at the 12:10 mark of the 3rd period, Bobo carpenter was able to find some space on a sprawling Rob McGovern, and tucked away a powerplay tally on assists from Dante Fabbro and Chad Krys. 1 minute and 50 seconds later, Jordan Greenway was able to find the back of the night on a far side snap shot, beating McGovern just underneath the bar. The powerplay goal was BU's third of the night, and was assited by Clayton Keller. Just over one minute later, Nikolas Olsson found the back of the net for his 3rd goal of the year, on assists from Ryan Cloonan and Nick Roberto.
