10/10/2026 11:43:00 PM | Men's Ice Hockey
The Black Bears earned a 5-3 win.
ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine men's ice topped sixth-ranked Quinnipiac, 5-3, on Saturday night at Alfond Arena.
Loic Usereau got Maine on the board first at the 7:42 mark of the first period but Quinnipiac responded just over a minute later. The Black Bears retook the lead – this time on a power-play goal from Sam Alfano – only to once again see the Bobcats respond for a 2-2 game at the first intermission.
Quinnipaic took a 3-2 lead just over a minute into the middle frame. Maine responded this time and two minutes after going down a goal, Isa Parekh received a puck in the high slot and rifled it home for a 3-3 game. Less than three minutes after that, Lee Parks finished off a slick feed from Will Gerrior to put Maine back on top.
The Black Bears held steady the remainder of the game and Sully Scholle finished off the evening with an empty-net power-play goal with 1:49 remaining in the game.
