BOSTON – The University of Maine men's hockey team captured the program's sixth Hockey East Tournament title with a 5-2 win
 over UConn on Friday night at TD Garden.

The Black Bears took a 2-0 lead in the first period, with
Lynden Breen and
Josh Nadeau scoring less than four minutes apart. With under four minutes to go in the second period,
Harrison Scott pushed the lead to 3-0.
UConn netted their first lone goal early into the third period before the Black Bears responded with a score from
Taylor Makar with just over 10 minutes remaining in the period. The Huskies added one final tally with just over five minutes to go in the period. Makar added a second tally in the third period, an empty net goal, with just under two minutes remaining in the contest.
