IN 2010-11: Will serve as a captain for the Black Bears.
IN 2009-10: Placed 11th in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:06.95) at the AE Championships in 1:06.95...Was 13th in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:25.63) and 14th in the 200 IM (2:08.67) ... Also swam on the 200 yard medley team at the AE Championships ... Named to the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll ... A Maine Scholar-Athlete Silver Medal Award winner.
IN 2008-09: Placed 13th in the 100 breast and 15th in the 200 breast at the America East Championships...Was a member of the sixth place 400 medley team at the America East Championships...Won the 200 IM against CCSU and NEU (10/25)...Placed third in the 100 breast against URI and Bryant (11/3)...Was third in the 100 breast against Stony Brook (11/8)...Was a member of the winning 400 medley relay team against Providence College as well as finishing first the 200 breast and third in the 1000 free (1/17)...Finished second in the 200 IM at the URI Harold Anderson Invitational (12/5)...Placed second in the 200 free event at New Hampshire (1/23)...Won the 100 IM in 1:02.88 and took home second place in the 100 free against Bowdoin (1/24)...Placed third in the 100 breast at Boston College (2/2)...Named to the America East Academic Honor Roll.
IN 2007-08: At the America East Championships, placed 10th in the 200 IM, eighth in the 100 breast and 17th in the 200 breast... Won the 100 breast against Boston College (1/25)... Won the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay at Providence (1/19)... Finished first in the 400 free relay at Boston University (12/8)... Won the 100 breast, the 200 breast and the 200 medley relay at the Rhode Island Invitational (11/30)... Placed first the 200 medley relay, the 100 breast and the 200 free at Fairfield (11/11)... Finished first in the 1000 free and 200 breast at Stony Brook (11/10)... Won the 200 medley relay, the 100 breast and the 400 free relay against Rhode Island (10/27).
BEFORE MAINE: Captain her senior year at Western Albemarle for coach J. J. Bean... Named Central Virginia Swimmer of the Year in 2006 and 2007... Lead Western Albemarle to a third place finish at State Championships in 2007... Named a Scholastic All American from 2005 - 2007... Also played volleyball and was named Central Virginia Volleyball Player of the Year.
PERSONAL: Majoring in psychology with a minor in Biology and Neuroscience...Active in SAAC, the Athletic Advisory Board, Psi Chi psychology honor society, and has participated in Black Bear Mentoring...Born February 13, 1989... Daughter of Jan and Jim Shelley.
