Gabby started working at Maine in July of 2022. She serves as an assistant equipment manager overseeing all aspects of the equipment role for the women's ice hockey, softball, and women's soccer programs.
Â
Prior to moving to Maine, Gabby spent the 2021-22 season as the Head Equipment Manager for the Long Island University Sharks Men’s NCAA D1 team. That season, she became the first female to serve as the head equipment manager for a Men’s NCAA Division 1 team. After LIU’s season ended, Gabby was asked to join her alma mater, Adrian College, for their NCAA Division 3 Tournament run in Lake Placid, NY, where they ended up winning the school’s first National Championship.Â
Gabby attended Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan from 2018 to 2021, graduating with her Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a focus on Sport Management in May of 2021. During her time at Adrian she served as the sole equipment manager for the top-ranked Adrian College Men’s NCAA D3 Bulldogs for three years. In addition to working as an equipment manager, Gabby was a goaltender for the Adrian College Women’s Hockey team.Â
Â
In January of 2021, Gabby was trained through the Maximum Edge Skate program by Marc Baron. During this class, she was certified in skate sharpening, repair, and blade maintenance, a certification which many members of the NHL, AHL, and Division 1 schools share.Â
Â
In 2022 and 2023, she has been invited to and has participated in multiple USA Hockey camps. Her first USA Hockey experience was the 2022 National Goaltending Camp in Plymouth, MI, which featured the top 30 U22 men’s and women’s American goaltenders. During the camp, she worked alongside the USNTDP to sharpen skates, repair equipment, and spin laundry for the elite goaltenders. Later in the summer, Gabby participated in the USA Hockey Girls 16/17 Camp in St. Cloud, MN, which featured the top 100 16 and 17 year old female hockey players in the United States, where she also sharpened skates and made repairs. Her third USA Hockey experience will be returning to Michigan to participate in the 2023 National Goaltending Camp in May of 2023.Â
Â
Outside of work, Gabby is an avid adult league hockey player, having played in (and won) a number of destination adult league tournaments. She also has spent a few summers working as a greenskeeper at a private golf course and greatly enjoys landscaping (as long as it’s on a riding lawnmower). Gabby is from Tacoma, WA and is a die-hard Seattle Kraken fan.Â
